Governor Quinn signed the statewide disaster declaration allowing IDPH to expand the scope of practice for EMT-I's and EMT-P's.  EMT-I's and EMT-P's will be allowed to administer the H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine after completing an approved vaccination training course with the approval of their medical director. 

The Governor's disaster declaration also allows the Department of Professional Regulation to expand the scope of practice for nurses, physician assistants, dentists, nursing students, and medical students to allow for the administrations of these vaccines.
